What kind of user data is collected and why?
How do we obtain personal data?
We receive personal data directly from users. Personal data about users is automatically collected in connection with their use of the Flipdish website *.flipdish.com (the “Website”) or the Flipdish Portal (the dedicated micro-site developed by Flipdish and made available to you). The type of information we may receive is described in further detail below.
Third parties may also provide us with personal data about users. For example, a business that operates on the Flipdish Platform (a “Business”) may provide us with personal data about you in order for us to fulfil food orders placed with the Business through the Flipdish Platform.
Types of Personal Data We Collect
Biographical and Contact Information
Users must share certain biographical and contact information to enable us to execute their order. This information includes, by way of example, a user’s name, email address or telephone number and their delivery address, Where a user provides these contact details through the Flipdish Platform and places an order with a Business, we will share this information with the Business so that they can complete that order and make sure it gets to the correct person.
Device, Operating system, IP Address and cookies
Some personal data is automatically collected when you use the Website. These details are used to identify and allow a user to log in securely to the Flipdish Platform, provide technical support and assistance, and protect against or deter fraudulent, illegal or harmful actions.
When a user enters their payment card on the Flipdish Platform, these details will be stored securely by our payment service provider(s). Neither the Business nor Flipdish has access to payment card details, with the exception of the last 4 digits of the payment card number, BIN (Bank Identification Number), and the card expiry date which are used to identify cards and orders.
When an order is placed, we receive order information such as delivery address, username, payment details and location data (when an order is placed through a Flipdish kiosk). We'll share these details with the Business so that the order can be completed.
A user may also choose to include details in their food order that indicate health information or religious beliefs but we do not ask for this information.
How we use user data
- place and complete food orders made with a Businessthrough the Flipdish Platform;
- respond to user inquiries;
- provide support and assistance through the Flipdish Portal;
- communicate with users;
- personalise Flipdish content based on a user's preferences;
- troubleshoot issues with the Flipdish Platform or the Website;
- protect against or deter fraudulent, illegal or harmful actions;
- comply with our legal or contractual obligations;
- enforce our terms and conditions;
- administer and manage corporate matters including financial and tax affairs or facilitating audits;
- resolve disputes.
Flipdish may send you Flipdish Platform service-related announcements. You cannot opt-out of service-related communications.
How can a user request that we delete their data?
A user can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and request that their personal data be removed from the Flipdish Platform. We may need to take reasonable steps to verify their identity to ensure that we are dealing with the same person whose personal data we hold. For example, we ask users making erasure requests to provide the mobile number associated with their account as a mobile number is required to make an order.
