- Login to Flipdish Portal.
- Click on the Stores option in the navigation bar on the left hand side.

- Click on the Preorder settings section.
There are to options in the sub-menu that follows: Pre-order for collection and Pre-order for delivery. While both of these lead to identical option screens, they are wholly independent, allowing for full customization against each service.
In both collection and delivery pre-order settings, you will find the following options, which we explain in details below:
A customer can order for ASAP
This toggle will decide whether ASAP (as soon as possible) is an available option when customer is selecting the delivery/collection slot during checkout process. If ASAP is disabled, customers will not be able to make an order for as soon as possible - they will have options to choose from specific time / time slot depending on your settings.
Always appear open
Toggling this on will set your store presence to never appear as closed, even if the store is not currently preparing orders. While the customer won't be able to make an order if the store is close, they won't see a notification that the store is currently closed. Some Flipdish clients prefer to set this toggle on, as in most cases it creates a less confusing customer experience when pre-ordering for a future date.
Force customer to select delivery time
If this toggle is on, the customer will need to choose specific delivery/collection slot when placing the order. If it is off, your customer will receive estimated time based on the rest of your pre-order setting, including lead time.
Lead time
Lead time defines how much time do you need for preparing the food and order, including delivery. Lead time is then used to calculate and show available time slots based on your set lead time.
For example, if your lead time was set for 45 minutes, and the client made an order at 1pm, the closes available time slot will be no earlier than 1:45pm (it also depends what interval do you set).
Interval
This number defines the time intervals for the available time slots the the customer will be able to choose from during checkout. For example, if the interval was set to 20 minutes, a customer will see available times in every 20 minutes, eg. 12:00, 12:20, 12:40, 13:00 etc.
Amount of days a customer can order in advance
This setting will define how many days in advance a customer can made a preorder from your store. It will essentially make as many days ahead available in the delivery/collection slots to choose from. Please note the maximum is 28 days.
Enforce cut-off time
This setting is used to restrict pre-orders if they would be made too soon for your store to feasibly complete (both prepare and deliver, if it's delivery). You can choose from one of the following options:
-
Same day cut off: If the current time of the customer making a pre-order is before what is set in the box, then you can order for today. If it is after, then the soonest point a customer can order for will be tomorrow. Eg. if the cut off time is set at 2pm, the client will still be able to make a pre-order for today if it is 1:59pm or earlier. But at 2pm or later, the customer will only be able to make a pre-order for the next available day.
-
Previous day cut off: If the current time of customer making a pre-order is before what is set in the box, then you can order for tomorrow. If it is after what is set in the box, then the soonest point a customer can order for will be the day after tomorrow. Eg. if the cut off time is set at 2pm, and the customer is making an order at 1:59pm or earlier, they will be able to make a pre-order for the next day. But if it is already 2pm or later, the customer will be able to make an order for the soonest available day after tomorrow.
Pre-order time display type
In this section, you can define how do you want to show available slots to your customers for pre-orders. You can select from one of the following options:
-
Single time: Customers can choose a specific time as denoted by your Interval setting i.e. 12:00, 12:15, 12:30 etc.
-
Start and end time: Customer can choose a time slot within which their order will be completed, and it will be defined by your intervals i.e. for 30 minutes it could be 12:00-12:30, 12:30-13:00 etc.
-
Day only: Customer can only choose a day for which their order will be completed i.e. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. In this option they won't see a delivery time.
Disabling pre-orders
When disabling pre-orders, all the settings will be turned off and your customers won't be able to make an order ahead of time. If you disable pre-order, please note that the Portal will remember what your previous settings, so you don't need to remember what it was before.
To enable pre-orders after disabling it, click ENABLE button and the Portal will set it back up exactly as it was. While disabled, customers will only have the ASAP option when ordering from your store.
